Speaking in his party's ordinary provincal congress, HDP General Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş underlines that HDP will enter in general elections as party and said: "They are trying to play one against another. We will come together with all the oppressseds juast to spite them. We will prepare the country for 'New Life'. It is time for change and HDP anymore. Term of lamb has ended."

The HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Mersin Provincal Organization held its 1st Ordinary Provincal Congress at Edip Buran Closed Sport Hall. HDP General Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, HDP Mersin MP Ertuğrul Kürkçü, DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) and HDP Central Executive Board (MYK) and Assembly of Party (PM) members, Akdeniz co-mayors, Peace Mothers, Alawi unions, non-governmental organizations and hundreds of citizens participated into the congress.

Kobanê resistance saluted

The placards reading "Welcome" in 8 languages and "New democratic Turkey", "Education on mother tongue is a humanitarian right", "Decentralized administration" and "Democratic country, equal and free life", poster of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Leader Abdullah Öcalan and photos of leaders of 68 generation were hung to the hall. The slogans of "Long live Leader Apo", "Long live fraternity of peoples", "Martyrs do not die" and "There can't be any life without leader". One minute silence was held in memory of all those who lost their lives in the struggle of democracy and freedom.

Kürkçü: HDP has risen from the ashes

HDP General Honorary President and Mersin MP Ertuğrul Kürkçü spoke in the congress and underlined: "HDP has risen from the ashes. All the discourse of the system towards the HDP have been evacuated. Peoples have suffered tyranny with this monist mentality for years, but now they are marching towards freedom and ruling with the HDP. This struggle will provide people with equality and freedom. It is time to defeat all the election threshold anymore."

Demirtaş: Street rallies are legitimate resistance against executions

Demirtaş said that street rallies are a legitimate “part of the resistance against executions.” “I repeat it. Street rallies are legitimate regarding the resistance against executions. Their execution laws cannot prevent us from making our legitimate resistance in the streets. I know there are electronic bugs in his office at Parliament. They are afraid of giving themselves away. They are wiretapping my phones; there are still bugs at my house and party offices at Parliament. We are not removing the bugs. We want them to listen to us, so that they may became decent people,” Demirtaş said. “They fear being wiretapped because they talk about theft and corruption, but we do not have those fears. We speak in our room as we have spoken here,” he said.
